The figure shows rainfall anomaly patterns during the period
December to February 2004. The patterns indicate that much of the southern
sector, western and southeastern parts of the equatorial sector observed rainfall
totals between 75% and 125% of the long-term average. Isolated areas in the
northern, equatorial and southern sectors recorded above 175% of the average.
Rainfall totals that fell below 25% of the average were recorded in the eastern
and western parts of the northern and equatorial sectors respectively.
